Sarah's family has been in the flooring business for 30 years. Not only did she play among the rolls of carpet in the
warehouses as a child, but her first job during high school was as a sales associate in her father's store in Durham.
After graduating from Carolina in 2000 with a degree in management and sociology, Sarah returned to the Carpet
One store as its General Manager.  She stayed in that position for five years, when the business was sold.

The idea behind Floorz To Your Doorz,
actually began when Sarah's son was born.  Attempts to furnish her own
home were frustrated by what she perceived as the lack of personalized service from home improvement
businesses.  "My planning and shopping time had to revolve around my newborn's schedule, and those times rarely
coincided with store hours," Sarah recalls.

When it came time for Sarah to return to work, she realized she wanted to do something in the flooring business but
she did not want a position as demanding as General Manager.  "My priorities had definitely changed," she admits,
"I wanted to have a career, yet be available for my husband and child." As she explored her options, Sarah heard
about the Mohawk Design at Home program and knew immediately that a mobile showroom was the answer to her
prayers.

"This is what is so great about Floorz To Your Doorz," she explained.  "My clients can just pick up the phone and call
us.  We travel to their homes and bring everything with us in our mobile showroom."
